The Question We Keep Getting Asked
More than anything else, the question customers actually ask us isn't about geometry or spec — it's "where do you ride this thing?" So here's an honest answer: five routes, spread across the country, starting close to home in Perth and working outward. Ride one, ride all five — either way, this is the list we'd hand a friend.
1. Kalamunda, Perth Hills (WA) — The One to Ride Every Week
Red dirt roads, a proper climb to warm up on, and it's twenty minutes from the city. This is the loop most of us ride on a normal week — not a destination ride, just the one that keeps the legs honest.
2. Kep Track, Mundaring to Northam (WA) — A Half-Day Out and Back
A former rail line turned into roughly 75km of gentle, well-graded gravel between the Perth Hills and the Wheatbelt. No technical terrain to speak of, which makes it a good one for banking longer weekend miles without the terrain doing the tiring for you.
3. Munda Biddi Trail, WA's South West — The One That Passes Nannup
Around 600km of forest trail running from the Perth Hills down into the South West, with a section threading through Nannup — host town for this October's UCI Gravel World Championships. You don't need to ride the whole thing; a section near Nannup is as good an introduction to World Championship terrain as you'll get.
4. Mawson Trail, South Australia — For When You Want to Go Properly Remote
A multi-day route running from the Adelaide Hills out into the Flinders Ranges outback. Different character entirely to anything in WA — real distance between towns, real self-sufficiency required, and outback scenery that's worth the planning it takes to get there.
5. Great Otway Gravel, Victoria — Forest, Coast, and Everything Between
A dense network of fire trails through Great Otway National Park, inland from the Great Ocean Road. Forest one hour, coastline the next, and enough trail options packed into one area that a long weekend barely covers it.
