What are the advantages of a titanium bicycle over other materials?

Titanium offers several unique advantages over aluminium, carbon fibre and steel:

  • Durability: Titanium is renowned for its exceptional durability and corrosion resistance, making it an ideal material for a long-lasting frame.
  • Comfort: Titanium naturally damps vibration, giving a smooth, comfortable ride and reducing fatigue on long days.
  • Strength-to-weight: Titanium has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, keeping the bike light and easy to handle.
  • Strength: Despite its low weight, titanium is incredibly strong, making it suitable for everything from long road rides to rough gravel.
  • Stiffness: Titanium strikes an ideal balance between stiffness and compliance, transferring your power efficiently while keeping you comfortable.
  • Lifespan: Titanium frames often outlast frames made from other materials, which makes them a sound long-term investment.
  • Timeless looks: Titanium's distinctive silver-grey finish gives your bike a unique, timeless appearance.
Do you offer custom bike frame options?

Each of our models comes in five sizes, from XS to XL, to fit most riders. If you need a custom geometry, we can have a frame made to your measurements. Contact us and we'll guide you through the process.

Where are the bikes and components from and assemble?

We work with several factories internationally. Our frames and most components are made in Asia (China and Taiwan), and we also work with factories in the US and Europe for other components and accessories. Every bike is individually and professionally assembled in Australia.

What is the expected lifespan of a titanium bike?

With proper care and maintenance, a high-quality titanium bike frame can last for decades, often exceeding 30 years. It's known for its exceptional durability and resistance to corrosion, making it a long-lasting investment for riders. That's why every Tizona titanium frame is backed by our Lifetime Warranty.

Are there any weight limits or restrictions for your titanium bike frames?

Our titanium frames are built to be strong, but as a general rule the combined weight of bike and rider should not exceed 120 kg, or 100 kg with standard carbon wheels. If in doubt, check with your wheel manufacturer.

Can I customize the colour or finish of my titanium bike frame?

Our frames come in a brushed titanium finish: no paint, just the natural metal. It's a core part of the classic look we design for, and with no paint to chip, it ages well and is easy to look after.

Do you provide any assembly or setup assistance for online purchases?

Yes. Every complete Tizona bike is assembled and set up by hand in Perth and arrives about 90% built: all you need to do is turn the handlebar into position and fit the front wheel. Please note that pedals are not included with any Tizona product unless requested as part of a custom order. If you have any questions once your bike arrives, just contact us and we'll be happy to help.

How should I clean and care for my titanium frame?
  1. Clean: Wash the frame and components with a bike-specific cleaner and water. Avoid using high-pressure water on bearings and moving parts.
  2. Dry: Make sure the bike is completely dry after washing.
  3. Protect: Apply a water-displacing lubricant to a clean cloth (never spray it directly onto the bike) and gently wipe the frame. This protects the titanium and restores its shine. Keep it well away from your brake discs and pads, as any contamination will reduce braking performance.
